Amazon Driver Beat The Heat By Diving Into Customer’s Pool

Taking a surprising approach to beat the scorching heat, an Amazon delivery driver made quite the splash by diving head-first into a customer’s swimming pool after completing a delivery.

The driver, seemingly undeterred by his work attire, including his shoes and cap, seized the opportunity to cool off on a hot day. He jumped off the diving board at the customer’s residence in Gardena, California, executing a head-first dive into the inviting pool. The incident, which unfolded on June 30, was captured by the home’s security cameras and swiftly gained viral attention.

ViralHog reported that the customer had included a note in the delivery instructions, playfully inviting the driver to take a swim if desired. Responding to this unique invitation, the driver placed the customer’s parcel outside the back door before making his amusing aquatic detour.

In the video, you can observe the driver remove his keys, wallet, and phone before diving right into the pool with all of his clothes and his shoes still on. Grateful to accept the invitation from the homeowner to use the pool in their absence, the driver wasted little time before seizing the opportunity to cool himself off with a refreshing dip.

One could hardly blame the driver for jumping at the invitation to use the pool. After all, whether you believe in global warming or not, one thing that’s impossible to deny is how hot this summer has been.

As various parts of the United States endured a heatwave over the past weeks, locations such as Death Valley, Phoenix, and Las Vegas witnessed some of the highest temperatures on record earlier this month. This summer also marked some of the warmest weather in recent memory — with experts noting that July’s heat had been so extreme that, even before the month concluded, it had already secured its place as the hottest month ever recorded.

In July, the Earth’s average global surface temperature exceeded the long-term July average of 60.4 degrees by a substantial margin of 2.02 degrees. This marked an extraordinary milestone, as July became the hottest month in the recorded history of 174 years. Impressively, this also marked the 533rd consecutive month with temperatures exceeding the norm, a remarkable streak that has extended for over 44 years.

With that in mind, it’s entirely understandable why this delivery driver lept at the chance to cool himself off in his customer’s swimming pool. We only wish he had the good foresight to remove his shoes before diving in.
